We love parents getting involved in the life of the school. There are numerous opportunities to get involved. From serving as a monitor parent to supporting our many fundraisers there is something for everyone! Let us know if you are interested in volunteering.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENTS
Social Gatherings
Family picnics will be held for all classes in the fall and spring. Each class selects a park or a parent's home for this gathering. Parents will sign up to bring food or paper products. Siblings are welcome to attend.
Open House
An all school Open House in the fall. Parents are encouraged to visit classrooms, chat with staff members and meet other parents. Details for this event will be included in the monthly newsletter.
Christmas Chapel
Parents, Grandparents and friends are invited to participate in the children's Christmas chapel services. Children in all classes help tell the story of the birth of Jesus through songs, readings and dramatizations. The December newsletter will provide dates and times for chapel services.
Bible Study
On Wednesday mornings starting in September join us for an 8 week study. 9:00-10:30
VOLUNTEERING IN THE SCHOOL
Parents serve as monitors every day. These individuals prepare water, organize educational materials, direct visitors to the office and assist with classroom projects. In addition to providing valuable assistance to the school, the Monitor Parent Program permits mothers, fathers or caregivers to spend time in the school. Children love to see their parents helping at school. During orientation parents will be asked to sign up to serve as monitors for one or two days each semester. The monthly calendar in the newsletter names the parents scheduled each school day. You will be sent a reminder through sign up genius as well.
FUNDRAISERS
Throughout the year the Day School holds a variety of fundraising events. Each event is held only because of the extraordinary efforts of a group of dedicated volunteers. Let us know if there are any events you might like to volunteer your support for. Not only would your time be used for a good cause, it's also a lot of fun and a great opportunity to get to know other parents in the school.
